About the exhibition:
AK JOL – Stories of Solidarity invites you to consider the concept of ‘movement’ in a new light, viewing it not only as locomotion, but also as an expression of change, adaptation, and unity. Drawing inspiration from the nomadic traditions of Kyrgyzstan, the exhibition explores themes such as displacement, the loss of a homeland, and the preservation of cultural heritage. International artists showcase their perspectives through painting, sculpture, film and performance, setting an example of solidarity in a globally networked world.

Wanted Wall

A particular highlight is the German premiere of the documentary film AK JOL – Open Road, a German-Kyrgyz co-production which documents artistic exchanges between Bishkek and Berlin. This film is part of the long-term AK JOL – Art Mobil project, through which ArtCity e.V. has been exploring topics such as migration, identity and movement via art since 2021.

Our commitment:
As the West-Eastern Encounters Foundation, we are committed to supporting projects that strengthen cultural dialogue, exchange and international understanding. We are delighted to support this inspiring exhibition project as a sponsor and cordially invite you to visit the exhibition.
