Leipzig-Yerevan Cultural Year

In 2026, the West-Eastern Encounters Foundation will place a special focus on Armenia. The objective is to consolidate existing contacts and enhance long-term civil society cooperation between Germany and Armenia. The focus will be on personal exchange, joint projects and the development of new partnerships.

A significant beginning will be the Leipzig-Yerevan Cultural Year, which will run throughout 2026 and feature a variety of events. The close and future-oriented cooperation is reflected in a corresponding agreement signed by Burkhard Jung and Tigran Avinyan on 31 March 2025.

The foundation is pleased to support this series of partnerships, thereby deepening relations between Germany and Armenia and promoting cultural and social dialogue.
