On 18 January 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the German-Uzbek Society hosted a roundtable event. Ambassador Dilshod Akhatov emphasised the diverse and long-standing relations between Uzbekistan and Germany. Dr Colin Dürkop, President of the German-Uzbek Society; Frank Henkel, former senator; and the journalist Dr Birgit Wetzel, among others, said that there had been solid social contacts for a long time, in addition to economic, political and scientific cooperation. Jelena Hoffmann, Chairwoman of the Board of West-Eastern Encounters Foundation, advocated continued strengthening of inter-societal cooperation.

The following day, the West-Eastern Encounters Foundation welcomed a delegation of Uzbek parliamentarians, led by Dr Feruza Eshmatova, Member of the Uzbek Parliament and Human Rights Ombudswoman, to its offices for a discussion. Further exchanges and discussions about potential areas of cooperation with the Foundation took place during an online meeting with representatives of the Uzbek Association of Social Organisations (NANNOUz) on 7 February 2024. Delegation visits were arranged with a view to future cooperation.
