Are you interested in climate, environmental, or biodiversity issues and would like to become part of a German-Armenian environmental project?
As part of the project “Youth Voices for Climate Dialogue,” the Foundation West-Eastern Encounters (Germany) and the Yeghvard Youth Ecological NGO (Armenia), with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, warmly invite you to participate in a youth exchange in Armenia from 13–20 June 2026. The event will be held in English.
Background: In October 2026, the 17th UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17) will take place in the Armenian capital Yerevan — one of the world’s most important international meetings dedicated to the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. Representatives from nearly 200 countries will come together to discuss global environmental and nature conservation measures. In the lead-up to the conference, we are bringing together young people from Germany and Armenia to ensure that their perspectives and ideas become visible within the international environmental and biodiversity dialogue.
Costs: Travel, accommodation, and programme costs will be covered.
Who can participate: We are looking for young people from Germany between the ages of 18 and 28. Previous experience with the project topic or membership in an organisation is not required. Both interested individuals and young people involved in initiatives, associations, or the environmental sector are welcome to apply. When selecting participants, we will take into account both the date of application submission and a balanced composition of the group. If you are interested in working on environmental and biodiversity issues in an international context, please apply via our registration form by 26 May 2026. You can also find the preliminary programme for the 7-day exchange in Armenia, as well as our suggested flight option, there.
What to expect: The programme will include workshops and discussions on environmental and biodiversity issues, the creation of photo, video, and social media materials, the development of shared ideas and perspectives, as well as exchange and networking with young people from Armenia. The materials developed during the project will later be presented by the project partners in the context of COP17.
